Paper Flowers!

Right now more than anything many crafters are interested in paper flowers. I too have fallen into the trap and love them ALOT!! There are many different ways to get this embellishment.

You can buy them from many different places. The most well known is Prima Flowers. These flowers are known for being elegant and color palette that is very inspiring.

The blog morepaperthanshoes.blogspot.com makes handcrafted flowers to sell. The blog also does some interesting things with the flowers once they are complete.

Michaels Arts and Crafts carries the Recollections brand of flowers in a variety like Prima but are not as detailed but it is alot easier to customize to  your own project.

Another way to get these beautiful paper embellishment is to make them. But how? The best way to figure it out without taking a class or a crop is Youtube. Youtube???  Youtube has videos on how to make anything. Just  go to the website and search for scrapbook flower tutorial and about 20 different technique videos.

If you know me you know that I am a tool girl!! If I can get a tool to make something I don't have to but them I am there. The people at McGill Punches obviously knew that. They came out with a line of paper punches and stylus set that makes these flowers. The link above takes you to there youtube account so you can see the techniques used to combine the punchouts into a flower  but after looking at these videos I realized with my Sizzix die-cut or the flowers in the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge or The Mothers Boquet mini cartridge. . I could alter the leaves on the flowers diecut make these flowers.  A nice touch is to stamens (those little things in the middle) that I bought from the Wilton section of my store.

SDU!!

***Update*** One of the may ways I express my love of scrapbooking is to teach.  Because I work at Michaels I was able to get the chance to train and teach the SDU method. I really like it and am always very EXCITED to teach the class!! If you live in the Memphis just leave me a comment and I am sure we can work something out!!  Have any questions about the method visit thier website: http://scrapbookdesignuniversity.com/
